Why We Charge an Adoption Fee

Our adoption fee doesn’t “buy” an animal; it helps cover the essential veterinary care every animal receives before going to their new home. This ensures that your new companion is healthy, protected and ready for their fresh start.

What’s Included

Every adoption fee includes:

  • Sterilisation (spay/neuter)
  • First vaccinations
  • Microchip & registration
  • Health check by a veterinarian
  • Deworming and flea treatment

Our Fees

Our standard adoption fee is R850.

  • For other critters, donkeys, horses, rabbits, rats and more, please chat to our Adoptions Officer for guidance.

Why It’s Worth It

If you were to arrange these treatments privately, the cost would be much higher than our fee. By adopting from the SPCA, you not only save a life but you also get a healthy companion at a fraction of the cost.
