The SPCA is not a private veterinary service. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and part of that is ensuring animals do not suffer needlessly from preventable conditions. Through our clinics, we provide basic health services, vaccinations, parasite control, wound care and essential treatments to qualifying members of our community, such as pensioners and disadvantaged families.
We believe that every pet owner has a responsibility to care for their animals. Our clinic services are not free, if they were, we would not be able to keep our doors open. Instead, through subsidised fees supported by fundraising and sponsorships, we are able to assist many families and improve the lives of thousands of animals each year.
By focusing our limited resources where they are most needed, we prevent suffering before it begins and give animals healthier, safer lives.
